Also you don't steer the same way so anatomical resource requirements are stated differently. boating Boating anabranches A <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvVi8F5wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">SpatialPredicate</a> that is used to indicate the anabranches of a given stream or river. (<a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rI3Cn8IIWEdqAAAACs6hO_g" class="cyc_term">anabranches</a> STREAM ANABRANCH) means that STREAM has ANABRANCH as one of its anabranches. That is, ANABRANCH is a <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvVkHdJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Stream</a> (q.v.) that flows out of and later rejoins STREAM. Compare this predicate with its two negations <code><a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvViNtJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">tributaries</a></code> and <code><a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rAnPkpIIWEdqAAAACs6hO_g" class="cyc_term">distributaries</a></code>. anabranch deep part of a waterway A specialization of <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4r35-YRJKVQdmKwIXakc9wLA" class="cyc_term">Channel_WaterPath</a>. Each instance of <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rwPugD5wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Channel_DeeperWaterwayPart</a> is a subregion of a body of water that is intended to allow the passage of boats or ships which would otherwise run aground or encounter hazardous rocks or wrecks. They are often deeper than their surrounding bodies of water. Whole channels extend from the surface to the bottom of the body of water and are long and thin. Unlike a <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvVj0epwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Channel_BodyOfWaterLink</a> (cf.), a <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rwPugD5wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Channel_DeeperWaterwayPart</a> does not have land banks above the water's surface as borders. Often, <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rwPugD5wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Channel_DeeperWaterwayPart</a>s are created or maintained by human dredging (and are thus <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvVidpZwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">ConstructionArtifact</a>s). Less often, they are naturally deep places. Bodies of water that disappear over a very long time scale or because of particular geologic events (e.g., a spring that stops flowing due to an earthquake) are not considered intermittent in this sense. (<a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rAnPkpIIWEdqAAAACs6hO_g" class="cyc_term">distributaries</a> STREAM DISTRIBUTARY) means that STREAM has DISTRIBUTARY as one of its distributaries.
