This is not to say that there are not individuals members of the organization who actually do the directing, rather it merely means that for any action in which it is correct to assert that the organization or their agents performed it, it is also correct to assert that the organization was the <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvViWkJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">directingAgent</a> of the action. Most American jurisdictions require that one of the words or abbreviations `corporation', `company', `incorporated', `corp', `co', or `inc' be included in the registered name of a corporation. In a &quot;physical&quot; geography microtheory (i.e. <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvydXJJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">PhysicalGeographyMt</a> and its submicrotheories), geopolitical-entities are clearly distinguished from the regions they control. (<a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvYkdfpwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">TerritoryFn</a> <b>GEO-POL</b>) is used in these contexts to denote the land mass (a <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rviE6a5wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">GeopoliticalRegion</a>) of a given geopolitical-entity <b>GEO-POL</b>. In a &quot;dualist&quot; geography microtheory (i.e. <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvnCA15wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">DualistGeopoliticalMt</a> and its submicrotheories), on the other hand, geopolitical-entities are viewed as being <i>both</i> agents <i>and</i> land masses (i.e. <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvViACZwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">GeographicalRegion</a>s). Thus, there is little need for <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvYkdfpwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">TerritoryFn</a> in the latter sort of context. (Despite their somewhat paradoxical flavor, dualist microtheories arguably allow Cyc to mimic commonsense reasoning about geopolitical entities and regions more closely than do the stricter physicalist microtheories.) There are also some &quot;generic&quot; geography microtheories (e.g. <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rv6rAIJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">WorldGeographyMt</a> and <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvr3x_5wpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">UnitedStatesGeographyMt</a>) which are neutral with respect to the physical and dualist views. <p/> Also see the shared-note for this constant. GeopoliticalEntity political entity The collection of all subcommittees formally organized by their parent committees (instances of <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvaG5hJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Committee_Organization</a>), usually to accomplish tasks or address issues determined by their parent committees. Typically, subcommittees are formed in order to divide up large tasks or issues addressed by the parent committee into smaller tasks or issues to be addressed by the subcommittee and reported back to the parent committee. Instances of <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rv34HLpwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Subcommittee_Organization</a> usually operate in accordance with rules or procedures inherited from or determined by their parent committees. Each instance of <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rv34HLpwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">Subcommittee_Organization</a> consists of at least two (and perhaps many) individual <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvV8agJwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">CommitteeMember</a>s and may, in certain instances, include a <a href="http://sw.opencyc.org/2008/06/10/concept/Mx4rvWeceZwpEbGdrcN5Y29ycA" class="cyc_term">CommitteeChairman</a>.
